ups and downs of a weekend

This weekend was an unhealthy mix of lying around and grocery shopping til I dropped.

It was riveting.

Elle is really the best kind of entertainment there is. I could stare at this picture for hours it's so cute.

Visitors are always welcome at our house, but mostly we prefer the ones that bring cookies.

Everyday Ellie stares out the window until it's finally warm enough to go play..

She's like a real life Dr. Seuss book..she climbs over, under, around and beneath. She's fearless.

Until she wandered into unknown territory and then things got a little iffy.

This is why snow and ice always look prettier from the inside..Elle is one brave little gal.

I keep meaning to organize my closet on the weekends..any ideas the best way to do it?

dear hollywood, get your act together!

It's been a long time since we've been to the movies.

Too long if you ask me.

It's not our fault really. I mean...lately the options have been less than desirable.

We attempted some and then realized that Hollywood has really gone off the deep end.

Interesting concept that immediately went up in flames when they thought casting the lead singer of 'Nsync was a good idea. I think a blind dog can act better than this guy. Also there was this scene where the car flips off a cliff and it was as though they had taken a hot wheels car and tossed it down a hill. This resulted in the only funny part of the movie. Special effects department: 1 Justin Timberlake: 0

Andrew: " Puss and Boots. Intriguing. I mean it's about a cat wearing boots. That's fascinating."

Yes I saw it. And I'm not proud. I keep thinking "it's impossible for these movies to get worse" but I would like to say to you now that it IS possible. It IS.

What a fantastic way to unite all the germ-a-phobes in the world? This movie reminded me of the time I was asked to attend a meeting about what we should do when the bird flu takes over. I nominated myself to be President of the Germ-a-phobic club that day. Gwyneth Paltrow is such a gem for bringing those memories back.

I thought this movie was a joke the first time I saw the trailer. Did anyone else think that? The preview seemed good. Basically Jason Bourne is a cowboy in the wild west and then BAM. Aliens. I think Hollywood is running out of ideas.

This is NOT to say that all movies in recent times are bad. I have actually seen a few good ones.

He's a cute, talented kid and I wish my little sis would marry him. Especially now that he drives a Fisker Karma. Also I've known 3 guys to watch this movie and they became Beliebers too. Well done Biebs..well done!

Really good..but you should read the book too. Because that's even better. And I want those dresses...

Midnight in Paris makes me miss midnight in Paris. It happened. I was there. I adore this movie.


This weekend we will be attempting "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" and "We bought a Zoo".

I'm also taking recommendations...

 It's Leap day.

Yes you probably already know this.

But did you know..

That I finally went to the Doctor today to find out why I feel like crap

This is an accurate portrayal of what occurred. Minus the boy and the pants dropping. It was however, extremely awkward and my hands were clammy and let's just say there's more than one reason why Leap day only happens once every 4 years.

Diagnosis? Not good. It's just not good at all.

So to help me feel better Andrew bought this sick gal a fancy dress

Lovely, lovely, lovely.

One can never have too many fancy dresses you know.
 
I'm in the war of my life people. I've got no choice but to fight til it's done.

At least I'll look good, right?

Communication.

It's not been working so well for me lately. Or possibly..ever.

I'm still not quite sure how saying the word "circus" became "surrogate" and when I tried to correct those misunderstood they nodded their heads and politely mouthed to each other, "mmhmm..surrogacy."

Really?

Marriage requires communication so Andrew and I talk a lot about..everything. We're improving a little everyday.

While talking about what Disney movies we should buy Elle, Andrew said, "hey you know that little old lady who walks her dog that's Dora's friend?"

Let's all assume he's referring to Dora the Explorer, Ellie's t.v bff.

"Little old lady? Do you mean Benny the Bull?"

"C'mon you know who I'm talking about. Dora's FRIEND. The little old lady who always walks her dog."

"Map? Backpack? I have no idea who you're talking about"

"What?! Yes you do.  Dora's friiiennnd" (because enunciation is clearly the problem here)

"Yeah I don't watch the show honey, I don't know all of Dora's friends."

"hmm...you know I'm talking about our neighbor Dora, right?"

"Ohhh you mean Shirley!"

So from now on I'll just let my camera do all the talking..courtesy of my pretty new iphone..

 

I found this gorgeous blue paint at my aunt's to use for my bathroom only to realize it's coincidentally the exact same shade (different brand) as my bedroom. No wonder I liked it. Paint fail.
