karate chop!

In my process of saying goodbye to sugar I've decided it's important to have some serious motivation.

And I also need to stop being such a pansy.

Like today Elle and I went for a walk and in between my shivers I thought, "My, how nice a hot apple cider would be right now".

Then we happened upon a little coffee stand so I asked if they had any sugar FREE hot apple cider.. and they didn't. But alas the woman was persistent and somehow convinced me to buy a sugar free hot cocoa instead. Which wasn't actually what I wanted at all. And if you've ever tried it..it tastes like crap. Frothy crap.

So then I was kind of mad at myself for the rest of our walk, mainly because I just paid $3 for pretend chocolate in foamy milk.

Because I am a chicken.

And in thinking of this chain of events I've decided it's time to (wo)man up and not let anyone else decide for me what I will or won't have. Because I know it's pretty cool to eat sugar..but I'm not cool right now. And that's how I want to be.

If you, by chance, are like me and easily forget why exactly you are doing the hard things in your life that you are actually choosing to do, karate chop those doubts and fears and get to work!

5.  Happiness.
I hate to say it, but sometimes I think we get so caught up in what everyone else wants for us that we lose sight of the things that really matter. Like me today, I let the expresso lady talk me into something I didn't need or want. But I can't blame her..because that was a choice I made. We need to keep commitments we make with ourselves, especially when it's for goals that will make us better, happier people.

4. Courage.
Most, if not all, of the good things we do in life are hard. I don't know why that is, but it's along the same lines that veggies don't taste as good as potato chips. Life doesn't have to make sense..be courageous. Do the hard stuff.

3. Be Free.
The only real person stopping you from greatness is You. Freedom from doubt and fears will allow so many doors to open to you. Free yourself from negativity and criticism.

2. One day at a time.

We tend to stop ourselves when we're so close to the finish line. Don't focus on how far you have to go..remind yourself constantly how far you've come.

1. Truth.

You can make the impossible possible. Trust God. Believe in yourself. Go for it.

  1. Yea!!! Sorry about the sugar free hot chocolate. I think I have a sugar free treat you would like though.... I'll bring it by this week. AND telling myself I am just exercising 20 minutes everyday is working!! I just keep saying it's just 20 minutes, I can still get things done... and then of course I end up exercising for 45. I guess its pretty lame if you can trick yourself. ;)
