say what you need to say

In my dreams last night I said a lot of things that I've been wanting to say for awhile.

It was funny how it happened...I was in a kitchen talking to some people when the person that I've been trying to figure out how to talk to, finally triggered my anxiety.

In real life, not just dreamland, I deeply love and respect this person.

He said something like, "I can't do that" and in front of everyone I told him why he could and should do that.

Do you want to know what I told him?

I told him that it was time for the past to be in the past. That all those things that were holding him back were really a choice that he was making.  That he actually did have the power to say "no more, I won't let you get the best of me" to those fears. And that everything else in sight was only pretending to be able to make him happy. That he really had exactly what he wanted right in front of him, but it was disguised as something that's easier to fear than believe in.

Even in my dream, people were shocked when I said this.

For the life of me I can't figure out why anyone is ever shocked by what comes out of my mouth.

The point is this:

*We can't really be happy in life if we are living in fear.

*Our past does not have to define us. It will if we allow it to, but ultimately we have the choice to say, "that was then, this is now".

*If there is someone we love and they need to hear something that may be hard, but really helpful to them, we should tell them. If we don't, who will?

*If you're doing the same things you've always done, you will get the same results. If you want to make a change, you have to change what you're doing.

*Cherish those that love you even at your worst. Because that is real love.

*Don't try and scare away the people that are loving you. That is not a test of real love. That is stupidity.

So whether you're the one that needs to say these things or you need to hear it, remember that it's really all about one thing.

Love.
